CLARKSBURG, W.Va. — WV News, with journalism roots dating back more than 165 years, announced a new era Monday with President and owner Brian Jarvis announcing the promotion of Charles Young to editor.
Jarvis also announced the promotion of Henry O’Brien to WV News sports editor.
“As president and owner, my responsibility is to make decisions that strengthen WV News for the future,” Jarvis said. “Promoting Charles Young to editor and Henry O’Brien to sports editor does exactly that. These are two talented leaders who understand our mission, respect our history and are ready to help build the next generation of WV News.”
Young, who came to WV News as a staff writer, moved quickly up to senior writer and most recently was promoted to deputy managing editor following the unexpected death of Executive Editor John Miller. As editor, Young now holds the highest editorial position in the company.
