The Nashville Banner, the historic daily that closed in 1998 after a 122-year run, is back — after a fashion.
The title is being revitalized online as a nonprofit news source by journalists Steve Cavendish and Demetria Kalodimos.
Kalodimos, a local news anchor, and Cavendish, a veteran reporter who interned at the original Banner and later worked at The Washington Post and Chicago Tribune, are relaunching the title. It is expected to fully launch in 2023.
