The Center Square has launched a new website designed to make it easier for donors, publishers and the public to understand and support its work as an open-access nonprofit newswire focused on government accountability from the taxpayer’s perspective. The new website can be found at thecentersquare.org.
The site highlights The Center Square’s mission to report on the size, scope, cost and effectiveness of government, and to distribute that reporting through an open-access wire that supports local and national newsrooms. The Center Square produces more than 65 original stories each weekday and provides news content to more than 1,350 media outlets, from local newspapers and broadcasters to digital publishers and national syndication platforms.
The new website includes dedicated sections for both donors and publishers. The donor section explains how philanthropic support helps expand statehouse reporting, enterprise and investigative journalism, video production, partner distribution and other work that helps taxpayers better understand what government is doing in their name.
The publisher section is designed for working newsrooms looking to strengthen coverage without adding strain to already stretched staffs. It explains how editors, publishers, broadcasters and digital news teams can use The Center Square’s ready-to-publish reporting to supplement their local, state and national coverage. The site makes this content available through RSS and MRSS feeds, Daily Planner emails, and video content. Onboarding support is also possible through the new site.
In alignment with this website rollout, The Center Square is also launching The Center Square Partner Network, a new initiative designed to strengthen relationships with news organizations that use its reporting. The network will provide publishers with clearer communication, easier access to content, more opportunities for feedback and additional support for republishing The Center Square’s state and national coverage. You can enroll here.
Publishers should look for a new partner portal coming soon.
The site also provides access to republication guidelines and editorial standards, giving publishers a clearer path to use The Center Square’s reporting in the format that best fits their newsroom workflow.
“Our goal is to make accountability journalism easier to support, easier to use, and easier to understand,” said Chris Krug, CEO and publisher of The Center Square. “This new site gives donors and publishers a clear view of how The Center Square works, why the reporting matters and how they can be part of expanding its reach.”
The Center Square news remains available for all news consumers at TheCenterSquare.com, where readers can continue to find daily reporting on public spending, regulation, elections, policy decisions and taxpayer impact.
