Print journalism’s challenges in the digital era were well known when Andrew Morse became president and publisher of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution in January 2023.

“[T]his is a really important time for journalism. I believe in particular that it’s a really important time for local journalism,” Morse, a former executive vice president and chief digital officer for CNN Worldwide, told the paper then. Morse, who also previously worked at ABC News and led Bloomberg News’ U.S. television division, called Georgia’s capital “probably the most fascinating city in the country right now.”
