America’s Newspapers is pleased to announce that Software Consulting Services (SCS) is once again a supporter of the Executive Development Program, a year-long initiative designed to prepare emerging leaders in the newspaper industry for the next stage in their careers.
This is the second year SCS has backed the program. Their commitment goes directly to supporting the training and development of future newspaper executives — equipping participants with practical skills they can apply immediately within their organizations.
“SCS is honored once again to be a supporter of the Executive Development Program,” said Kurt Jackson, managing member/owner of SCS. “I can't think of anything more important than helping develop the next generation of leadership in software and publishing. We are all in this together.”
The Executive Development Program is the only initiative of its kind tailored specifically to the needs of the newspaper industry — especially small to mid-sized operations. Through in-person and virtual sessions, participants gain real-world tools in leadership, business operations, audience development and innovation.
“The future of local newspapers depends on strong, well-prepared leadership,” said Dean Ridings, CEO of America’s Newspapers. “SCS’s continued support helps ensure that rising executives have the resources they need to grow — and to lead change in their organizations right now.”
Applications for the 2025 class are open through May 30. The program is open to members of America’s Newspapers. Financial support may be available to help offset travel costs.
The program is managed by America’s Newspapers and the America’s Newspapers Foundation, with inspiration and support from the Inland Press Foundation.
