Report for America is a national service program that places early career and experienced journalists in local newsrooms to report on under-covered topics and communities across the United States and its territories.
Did you know Report for America has:
- Supported over 400 newsrooms, helping them collectively raise more than $40M in local donations.
- Helped newsroom partners raise an average of $36,249 for reporters we have placed in their newsrooms.
Report for America helps our host newsrooms:
- Find a reporter to report on under-covered topics and communities.
- Cover half of the reporter’s salary for the first year and 33% of the salary the second year.
- Provide training to newsroom partners and corps members: corps members have access to 50+ trainings per year.
