The Houston Chronicle has named Renae Merle as its new business editor. A veteran journalist and newsroom leader, Merle brings more than two decades of experience covering and editing some of the most consequential stories shaping the nation.
As business editor, Merle will lead the Chronicle's business coverage, overseeing a team of reporters covering the economy, energy, real estate, technology and the companies and industries driving Houston's growth and transformation. ...

Merle joins the Chronicle after nearly 25 years at The Washington Post, where she most recently helped oversee national coverage with reporters stationed across the country responding to breaking news and producing ambitious enterprise journalism.
