Small town newspapers in 15 Iowa counties face an uncertain future after their publishing company, Hampton-based Mid-America Publishing Corporation, announced plans to close in April.
Multiple affected publications issued statements announcing the company's last day of business will be April 2.
Among them, the Butler County Tribune and Clarksville Star have both been in operation for nearly two centuries, and many have been around since well before 1900.
