Star Courier building sold; newspaper continues regular operations

The Star Courier in Kewanee, Illinois, will continue printing five days a week and customers will not notice any change in coverage or service following the sale this week of the newspaper's building.  Employees of the newspaper published by Gannett will move to office space inside the existing building.

“The Star Courier is still publishing and committed to our subscribers and this community,” said Marnie Eggern, the Star Courier’s office manager. “It’s the building at 105 E Central Blvd. that was sold, not the paper. And for now we’re still at this location.”

The building, which is more than 60 years old, was originally constructed to house a fully operating press and around 40 employees. Today there are five full-time employees.
