Report for America is inviting America’s Newspapers members to apply for host newsroom consideration. The program, launched in 2017, has already placed more than 700 reporters in 400+ newsrooms nationwide — directing over $30 million in salary support and helping local newsrooms raise another $30 million in community donations. Nearly half of its corps members are journalists of color and two-thirds are women, making it one of the most diverse pipelines in the field.
Selected newsrooms gain a dedicated local reporter, receive salary support (50% the first year, 33% the second), and get hands-on fundraising guidance from RFA’s Local News Sustainability Team.
