The Houston Chronicle has hired veteran Texas journalist Julián Aguilar to cover the impact of immigration policies in Houston, one of the most diverse cities in the country.
Aguilar will begin in his new role on July 7. He will report to key topics editor John Tedesco.
“The stakes of covering this beat couldn’t be more important,” said Aguilar, who has lived in El Paso and written about immigration for outlets such as the Texas Tribune. “I just think it's a great opportunity, a great challenge and an honor to be part of a team that wants to get it right.”
