The Des Moines Register's parent company, Gannett, has filed a petition to remove a lawsuit President-elect Donald Trump filed against the Register to federal court from Polk County district court.
Trump sued the Register, Gannett, and pollster Ann Selzer on Monday, alleging they had violated the Iowa Consumer Fraud Act by releasing a poll days before the November election that significantly understated his support. The poll showed Vice President Kamala Harris with a 3-point lead over Trump in Iowa. Trump went on to win the state by 13 points, and alleges the poll was fraudulent and an attempt at election interference.
