Dean Ridings, CEO of America's Newspapers, opened this week's webinar on "Advocacy Issues Impacting Newspapers" by thanking members who had advocated for the passage of both the Local Journalism Sustainability Act and the Journalism Competition and Preservation Act.
He thanked members for their valiant efforts and noted that — while neither of the bills were included in the final legislation passed in 2022 — great progress was made with legislators on behalf of the newspaper industry.
