President Joe Biden announced on Monday his picks to fill out the Federal Communications Commission’s Democratic majority — selecting telecom lawyer Anna Gomez for a new term as commissioner and sitting Commissioner Geoffrey Starks for a second five-year term.
Liberal advocacy groups have grown increasingly frustrated over the last two and a half years with the slow pace of rounding out the majority, which they say is crucial for progressive priorities like net neutrality and stricter broadband regulation.
