America's Newspapers welcomes The Jackson Herald into membership

The Jackson Herald is the 150-year-old weekly newspaper serving Jackson County, Georgia, the fourth-fastest-growing county in the nation. It is the flagship publication of Mainstreet Newspapers, Inc., which publishes five weekly newspapers in Northeast Georgia. It is owned by Mike and Scott Buffington, who succeeded their parents in the business. The firm has been in the Buffington family for the past 60 years.

Over the decades, The Herald and its sister newspapers have won hundreds of state and national awards. Mike and Scott have also held various industry leadership positions at the state and national levels. Mike’s wife, Alex, is an editor for The Jackson Herald.
