America’s Newspapers has formalized a new partnership with the News/Media Alliance, aligning two national organizations around shared advocacy and business priorities for the news industry.

“This partnership reflects a shared commitment to ensuring the long-term sustainability of journalism,” said Dean Ridings, president and CEO of America’s Newspapers. “At a time of rapid transformation in media, collaboration is essential. Together, we can amplify the voice of publishers and accelerate solutions that strengthen trusted journalism in communities across the country.”

The agreement builds on years of coordination between the two organizations and creates clearer pathways for members to engage across both networks.

Danielle Coffey, president and CEO of the News/Media Alliance, said: “We are stronger together than the sum of our parts, and we look forward to working collaboratively to build a stronger, more sustainable future for journalism and all of our members.”

Through the partnership:

  • Eligible America’s Newspapers members may join the News/Media Alliance at a preferential rate
  • Eligible members may participate in NMA’s AI licensing program
  • Eligible News/Media Alliance members receive a discount to attend the America’s Newspapers Mega-Conference
  • Both organizations will continue coordinating on advocacy and strategic industry initiatives

The intent is straightforward: align national and local efforts, expand opportunity for members, and strengthen the business environment for news organizations.
