Veerasingham, AP’s executive vice president and chief operating officer, succeeds retiring AP President and CEO Gary Pruitt to become the 14th leader of the AP in its 175-year history.

The Washington Examiner is requiring employees to be vaccinated against the coronavirus. Employees of MediaDC, the outlet's parent company, were sent guidance announcing a "mandatory COVID-19 vaccination policy," that went into effect on Monday, according to a memo reviewed by The Hill.
