America's Newspapers is making this webinar available to its members, as well as state press association members, at no cost.
The coronavirus pandemic has forced most of our employees to work from home — the first time many newspaper companies are faced with managing a big remote workforce. This webinar provides best practices for the many issues managers can expect leading remote workers.
Susan Davidson Talmadge, who brings nearly three decades of newspaper human resources experience to her consultancy, will discuss ways for managers to optimize their remote employees' productivity and accountability, enhance trust and communications, improve virtual meetings and teamwork, and provide some ideas and resources for reducing burnout and stress.
Employment and labor attorney Karla Grossenbacher will follow with best practices for managing remote work from an employment law perspective, including wage and hour issues, OSHA regulations and workers compensation issues. She’ll also discuss what measures managers need to take to protect their company’s proprietary information.
