Mike Fortman, associate publisher of TH Media, Dubuque, Iowa, has announced that Todd Benz has been named TH Media/Woodward Community Media director of sales.
In his new position, Benz will oversee advertising, marketing, audience development and distribution for TH Media. In addition, he will provide sales and marketing support and leadership for Woodward Community Media’s weekly publications in Iowa, Illinois and Wisconsin.
Benz has an extensive media background serving in leadership positions for Adams Publishing Group, Gatehouse Media, Gannett and the McClatchy Company. Most recently, he was the publisher of the Lima News in Lima, Ohio.
Fortman commented, “We are excited to have Todd join our team. He brings a tremendous amount of experience in advertising sales, subscription development, marketing and distribution. We look forward to having him help us lead our transition to a digital first media company.”
Benz’s role coincides with previously announced leadership changes for TH Media and Woodward Community Media. Effective Jan. 1, Fortman will move into the role of TH Media publisher and vice president of Wooward Community Media, while Bob Woodward will transition into a new role as director of journalism philanthropy and college student internships.
