    1. Local news publishers have remained open as essential entities, to the extent they can, to provide valuable information to communities about health-related developments and reliable information that is now more important than ever. 
    2. There has been up to a 50% decline in advertising revenue for newspapers in Q2. Many companies have furloughed workers and have cut pay to keep newsrooms running, but unfortunately many must close their doors. 
    3. An expansion of the SBA loan program would help keep reporters employed in newsrooms for papers that are part of groups of other small newspapers or non-news businesses. 
    4. We strongly urge Senate Leader McConnell and Senator Schumer to include an SBA waiver affiliation for local news in the next stimulus package.
