America’s Newspapers, the leading advocate for local newspapers, announced the launch of the America’s Newspapers Sales Management Academy, a new year-long program designed to equip sales leaders in family-owned small to midsize newspapers with the skills and strategies necessary to drive revenue growth across both print and digital platforms.
The program will begin with a comprehensive half-day session at the 2025 Mega-Conference in Orlando, followed by monthly virtual sessions throughout the year to ensure continued development.
“Developing top-quality sales leaders is a priority for every publisher. This program addresses that need by reinforcing and enhancing the foundational skills necessary to build high-performing sales teams that can successfully grow both digital and print revenue,” said Dean Ridings, CEO of America’s Newspapers.

The program will feature insights from some of the most accomplished sales leaders in the industry, offering participants a chance to learn from the best. Monthly virtual sessions will provide actionable tools, ongoing support and strategies to implement immediately, helping sales leaders refine their sales plans and ensure long-term success.

The Sales Academy offers a valuable opportunity for sales managers, team leaders and business development professionals to enhance their leadership abilities, improve team performance and drive revenue growth across both print and digital channels.
The cost to participate in the Academy is $250, including the opening in-person session in Orlando. Participants who complete the program (attend the in-person session and participate in at least 75% of all sessions) will receive certification and are eligible to receive a stipend of $500 at the conclusion to help defray their expenses. Your organization must be a current member of America’s Newspapers.
Mega-Conference attendees receive complimentary registration to the Academy. However, you still must submit your application to attend.
