New book from Leonard Woolsey unmasks ordinary life

Posted

"Discovered In Plain View: Life Unmasked" by Leonard Woolsey is his newest collection of writings and stories about everyday life and the unmasking of those special moments we tend to overlook.

"The book is a collection of 85 pieces written about experiencing everything from visiting with a street sweeper in Boulder, Colorado, to an inspiring Cocker Spaniel who never lets being short one limb keep him from living life to the fullest," said Woolsey.

The book is the third in the "In Plain View" series by Woolsey and was completed during the recent COVID work-at-home period.

"I'm just a normal guy who happens to be fascinated with the world around me. And lucky for me, God gives me the inclination to write down what I see."

Woolsey is also the publisher of The Daily News in Galveston, Texas, as well as president of Southern Newspapers, Inc.

"In a way, these are somewhat personal diaries of my life and those around me," said Woolsey. "And it is in those most ordinary moments of life I never seem to fail to discover a lesson to make me a better student of life.”

“Believe it or not, this project became a much needed break from long hours of figuring out how to get our newspapers positioned to successfully manage this chapter.”

The book came together quickly with Woolsey doing all the design, paginating and production on the book. A one-person learning project, so to say.

Well, almost.

"My wife shot the uncredited photo on the back cover. I’m probably going hear about that one day."
