Aaron Snyder, sports/managing editor of The Daily Independent in Ashland, Kentucky, has been promoted to editor of the newspaper. He succeeds Glenn Puit, who resigned in late September to join the Las Vegas (Nevada) Review-Journal.

Snyder, 33, is a native of Ashland. He also will serve as a group editor for The Daily Independent’s sister papers in Morehead, Grayson, Olive Hill and Greenup.

Snyder’s promotion was announced by Publisher Patricia Bennett.

“Aaron has done a great job as sports/managing editor and it is fitting he move on to our top-level position in the newsroom,” said Bennett. “He will advance what is already an outstanding local news organization in print and online.”
