Posted

The Post and Courier's Hurricane Wire newsletter (Charleston, South Carolina) is keeping coastal residents up-to-date with the latest storm coverage throughout hurricane season — assessing not only the risk posed, but the science behind it.

Here's what readers will find in the Hurricane Wire:

  • Weekly hurricane forecasts and severe weather outlooks are the top priority.
  • An exclusive piece of climate reporting.
  • Visualizations, graphs and analysis from the paper's data journalists to help illustrate historical trends and long-term climate phenomena.
  • A roundup of relevant hurricane and climate coverage that the staff's journalists are reading from around the web.
  • Striking historical images of hurricanes and major storms from the paper's archives.

In addition to sending the newsletter every Thursday morning during hurricane season (June through November), breaking updates also are sent on an as-needed basis.

Readers can sign up for Hurricane Wire here.

In addition, the paper's Hurricane Wire Hub offers more storm coverage throughout the week.  Subscriptions are $2.99 a week and also include an emergency backpack.
